For you

  • The Sales Engineer position at Bakker Magnetics fulfills a key role within the organization;
  • You will start with a direct employment contract with the intention of converting it to an open-ended contract;
  • The Sales Engineer role has a salary range of €4000 to €6000 gross per month on a full-time basis including a company lease car, laptop and phone;
  • The secondary benefits come from the Collective Bargaining Agreement Metalektro, including, among other things, a good pension and 40 days of leave;
  • Additional benefits include a birthday bonus and the opportunity to participate in the bicycle plan;
  • You travel within Europe in an average of 1 day a week;

About this vacancy

As a Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for sales plans, technical issues, quotations, steering the sales process, market research and marketing new products. You will be the point of contact for the customer, supervising projects from A to Z and reporting to the Product Group Manager.
  • Bakker Magnetics is a specialist in magnet technology and is involved in many new technical innovations in the world of tomorrow;
  • As a Sales Engineer, Europe is your work area. You find it fascinating to visit customers within Europe on a weekly basis, enthusiastically conveying your passion for the product to existing customers as well as new leads and prospects. Your interest in diverse cultures and customs is a positive asset in your client approach;
  • Your client base offers an interesting range of different companies, varying from innovative SMEs to large OEMs. You enjoy the combination of technology and commerce, not selling a standard product but offering customized solutions. In this role, you are the connecting factor between product development and the market;
  • Collaboration is central in your approach. You will work closely with engineers and maintain good relationships with the production and the purchasing department. This allows you to maintain a high level of product knowledge and provide customers with technically sound advice;
  • Experience in magnetism is welcome, but not a requirement. Bakker Magnetics offers the opportunity to learn “on the job”. As a strong communicator, you act as a serious sparring partner for the client, both relationally and technically, resulting in clear and sound advice;
  • Process improvement is strongly encouraged as Bakker Magnetics believes in and facilitates continuous improvement;
  • Within this role you can develop your skills to become the specialist in the field of magnetic applications.

About you

  • You are an experienced and driven Sales Engineer with a professional and personal approach. You are a trusted advisor to your clients;
  • The position requires a minimum of an HBO technical or physics education, as well as at least 5 years of relevant work experience in a technical industry that provides a foundation for tackling complex challenges in a decisive manner;
  • You have the ability to listen well and keep asking the customer to get the right information to the surface;
  • As a Sales Engineer, you have project experience and are a connector who collaborates in a multidisciplinary way, to achieve the best results together;
  • You operate in an international playing field, where speaking both English and Dutch is essential. Knowledge of the German language is a definite plus;
  • You are able to switch smoothly between various departments, conversation levels and cultures, both internally and with customers;
  • Words like enthusiastic, self-starting, proactive, structured and responsible reflect your personality. Achieving successes forms your motivation and source of energy;
  • You thrive in a team culture where cooperation, mutual trust and fun are highly valued. Your contribution to the team contributes to the collective success;
  • You are familiar with relevant ERP systems and MS Office, which contributes to your ability to manage data efficiently and understand business processes;
  • You enjoy sharing your knowledge and experiences to continuously improve the sales process.
